Chickpea Burger and Sweet Potato Fries

Every now and them I love to have me a nice burger. Usually I have a nice and juicy Turkey Burger and it goes down. But when you have the same thing over and over it gets super BORING. So, of course, I had to find something different but made sure that it still packed tons of flavor yet it was still simple.

When I eat I like to get down with it. No I don't mind being in the kitchen and busting out the pot and pans. But when it time to make a burger I just want to get it done. Yet I still want it to be AMAZING. So I gave a CHICKPEA BURGER  a try and of course I had to have some fries, cause what is a burger without fries, Nothing.

Lets Get Started

Chickpea Burger!!

What to do:

2 1/4 c cooked chickpeas

1 1/4 c cooked brown rice (still hot)

2 cloves minced garlic

1/4 c diced red onion

1 small carrot grated

1/4 c minced parsley

3 tbs BBQ sauce

1/4 c breadcrumbs

2 tbs ground flaxseeds

Salt and pepper to taste

What to do:

In a food processer, mix together the chickpeas and brown rice. Add to a bowl and mix in the chopped veggies, flaxseeds, BBQ sauce, and breadcrumbs. Add salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.

Heat up a sauce pan and add a little olive oil to it. Start to shape out your patties. They should be the size of the palm of your hand. You should be able to make about 6-8 patties. Make sure to pack them tightly together. Cook each patties about 4-5 minutes each side until they are nicely brown. Set aside when done.

Sweet Potato Fries!!

What you need:

3 large sweet potatoes (washed)

olive oil

salt and pepper

Italian Seasoning

What to do:

Pre-heat oven to 400

With a knife, cut each potato in half and slice up in the size you want the fries to be. You don't have to peel the potatoes they taste great with the skin on.

In a bowl, add the potato fries. Drizzle them with olive oil, salt and pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix up until they are fully coated. Place on a baking sheet (TIP: line baking sheet with foil for easy clean up) in one even layer and place in oven.

Cook for about 10-15 minutes or until they are the desired texture.

Once everything is COOKED ... Time to ENJOY! LETS EAT !!
