How to Beat Cravings

It is summer time in the CITY. And we all know what that means. Food Food and more FOOD. Everything taste better in the summer time. All the great treats and goodies. We know that its all out there, so we want it. ALL OF IT. This my friend is a CRAVING in its finest form. When you what it all but know that you cant have any of it.

You try to tell yourself that its not good for you and its gonna mess up all the progress that you have made and blah blah blah. I have some real good news. The real trick to healthy living is MODERATION. You don't have to deprive yourself of a thing. Once you figure that out, the rest is easy.

To get the hang of this you have to be really honest with yourself. You have to know what it is that is really driving the craving, get that under control, and then you are set to go. Once you have your cravings under control then it is no longer a problem. No longer a CRAVING. Now it becomes something you like to have every now and then. How amazing is that??!!  So let's talk about how we get from Craving to Indulgence.

How to Beat the Craving:

Don't Deprive Yourself - This is the biggest misconception when it comes to healthy living. You don't have to deprive yourself of a thing to be healthy. It is okay to treat yourself

Notice What You're Craving - Pay attention to the things that you are craving by writing them down. By taking note of this, it helps you to recognize patterns in your life that may be bring about this craving.

Eat it Less Frequently - If you want the chips eat the chips. But don't eat them as often as u normally would. You don't have to decrease the amount of the food you eat just how often you eat it.

Find an Alternative - This is not as tricky as it may seem. If you like fries, have sweet potato instead of white potato. If you like chips, make them yourself. Find an alternative.

Distract Yourself - The easiest way to get over something is to pretend like it doesn't exist. If you are not thinking about it, it can't cause you any problems.

End your meals on a good note - When we go out we want dessert. They always offer so why not have it. The best way to get around this issue, is to have a trigger that lets your body know that food time is over. You can train you body to know that once you have a cup of tea, coffee, or water that eating time is OVER. This way you wont have to worry about the dessert craving.

Create a Schedule - Be the change that you want to see. By creating an eating schedule, you make it easier to train you body and cut out the cravings. You can set meal times and snack times, enabling yourself to forget about the side snacking and guilty pleasures of cravings.
