Tips for a Better Workout
As on now we all should be in full swing with out workout plans for the new year. We have had the WHOLE month of January to get on the right track and really figure out what works for your lives.
Granted, I have been on my health and fitness journey for quite some time now. And most people think that everything is super easy for me. That couldn't be further from the truth. Every week brings a new set of CHALLENGES because basically that's life.
I will admit that, yes, each week on either Saturday night or Sunday afternoon, I sit and create a "plan" for the week. I have workouts and meals that I want to do and eat for the week, I get up from the table feelings so accomplished and proud of myself. Then Monday hits and my life becomes a total mess.
Some days, no matter how hard I try getting a workout in seems next to impossible. It makes me just want to tear my hair out some days that I have fallen so far from my "plan". But I remember that tomorrow is a new day and new opportunity to back to the script.
When we I do finally make it to the gym, it can be a little overwhelming when you see all the people already there looking like they have it all figured out. I have gone to the gym on a number of occasions and not even attempted to walk over to the free weight area cause everyone over there was so "buff" and "ripped". Just feeling like what are these people still doing here, they already have the look what more do they want.
I will admit that sometimes I'm nervous and feel a little intimidated that I may be doing something wrong and someone is laughing at me and I don't even know it. There are usually a ton of things that are going through my mind and make me feel like I should just stick to the treadmill LOL.
To make sure that you dont have to go what I do and you can feel fully CONFIDENT when your hitting the weights, here are some tips:
Tips for your workout
Make sure you're using the correct technique
Don't forget your water
Make sure not to over train
Don't stick to the same routine - keep the body guessing
Do interval training
Don't always do an easy workout - challenge yourself
Make sure not to round your back - flat back is key
Make sure to pay attention to your fitness nutrition
Make sure to do a cool down - around 2 minutes
