Signs you are sleep deprived

If you are anything like me, you have way too many things to do and nothing close to enough time to do it in. I love the memes that have people crying with caption “trying to eat right, go to the gym, work 8 hours and still keep a social life.” The accuracy of the picture in my real life. Trying to do everything under the sun and still get 6 – 8 hours of sleep can feel very close to impossible.

The down side to this is that getting 6 – 8 hours of sleep is very IMPORTANT to our health. Making sure that we get the proper amount of sleep each night makes sure that we are able to do all the things that we need to do each day. The down side is that when we don’t get the proper sleep, being sluggish is the least of our worries.

There are some serious side effects to not getting sleep. When I don’t get enough sleep, I basically can’t function. The worst part is that when it goes on for a couple of days, I fall into this mode where everything is funny. I have had people ask me on an occasion or two if had been drinking during the day or if I had been smoking a “special” cigarette (if you know what I mean). Truthfully, I was just sleep deprived.

I will admit that It is a very rare occasion that I get in a full 8 hours of sleep. Even on the weekends, I find it hard to get 7 hours. Even worst, there have been multiple days during the week where I just make it to 5 hours. I try my hardest to get to bed by at least midnight (which we guarantee me at least 6 hours), but there is always something that creeps up on me at the last minute, like making sure my meals are ready for the next day LOL.

Because getting the correct amount of hours of sleep is so important, I am making it a personal daily goal of mine to be in bed my midnight at the latest. Just to make sure that we all know how important sleep is to health and healthy living, I have come up with some side effects of being sleep deprived below:
