5 Food Combinations for Weight Loss

With the start of new week that means we have to figure out what is it that we are going to eat. Trust me when I say I to have issues with meal prep. In the past, I didn’t find meal prep so hard because I watched a lot of food channels and food shows. So the ideas came on a constant basis. To be honest, I wasn’t making the meals like they did on the show. No one has all those ingredients in their how on a regular basis. But I honed the skill of know what replaced what. There was a time when you couldn’t find mascarpone cheese at the store so I had to figure out what was the equivalent of it.

These days, I don’t really have time to sit at home and watch these shows, write down the recipe and then make a run to the store. Most weeks I am flying by the seat of my pants trying to figure what to make. When it comes to snacks I’m on my game but these meals are another story. They seem to be such a task to come up with an actual meal to eat.

I have had days where I just wanted to give up and not eat a thing. I figure I could stand to miss a meal or two, right? WRONG. That is one of the worst things that I could ever do to myself. Skipping meals falls on the same level of bad as eating junk food. Without getting to deep into a lecture, when we skip meals our body will being to store any food that we eat. Our bodies will go into what is called “survival mode”. It will store every that we eat as fat because it doesn’t know when it will get another meal. By skipping meals we do our body a disservice.

With all the complaining about meal prep out the way, I actually took the time to figure out how to make meal prep, cooking and meal planning just a bit easier. I came up with a couple it food groups that we can combine together to eat the ideas flowing a little sooner. The best part is we are still eating healthy and making sure to stay on track.
