I Gave Up and Took on for one week ... Crazy Idea
Just like all humans, I am always on the internet. I am always checking this or that and researching different fitness things and wellness stuff. I am constantly doing some Google search either from my phone or laptop. With all that searching, I kept coming across the topic of “giving up for a week”, “giving up for a month” and even “this is what happened when”. And I read just about each and every one of them. Granted they all seemed pretty interesting.
So, I decided to jump on the band wagon. I thought, hey if they can do it so can I. If they could give up something so could it. If the rest of the world couple takes on something, why can’t I do it? And I did. The issues remained, what do I give up and what do I take on? Usually people give up something during the 40 days of Lent. I do as well, and even then I find it hard, truthfully, to find something to give up. I don’t take on many indulgences anymore since starting on the path of health and fitness. My wellness became my top priority, so soda and candy were already out the window. So, during then, I decided to take on something. That has been “easier” to accomplish.
When, I made the decision to take on something for the week that was a bit easier. I had been totally spilling on my water intake; the decision was a piece of cake. Now, here comes the part of giving something up. Like what am I supposed to give up. I have given up just about everything. When I want something I just go for it. And because I don’t go over board and total indulge no harm no foul. Now, that leaves me with, what do I give up.
Then it hit me, my new found love, COFFEE. I had it all figured out. I would give up coffee and replace it with drinking a gallon of water a day for a week, on each. I thought this would be the easiest thing I have ever done and sharing my week would be great. Then I had to actually go through a week of no coffee and drinking water for a week. I realized I was crazy and had gone completely mad.
So hold on tight as I take you through the recap of my week of giving up coffee and drinking a gallon of water a day for a week. Next week’s Monday and Wednesday posts will be about what happened when I gave up coffee for a week (Monday) and what happened when I took on drinking water for a week (Wednesday). It’s going to be interesting to say the least.
